Women invited to shoot trap, aim for breast cancer awareness

RED BLUFF -- Quick, name the best women shooters, all time.
Annie Oakley, sure. Kind of gets fuzzy after that. But it doesn't mean women are poor shooters. It's just a matter of opportunity.
Women are joining shooting sports in record numbers, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation. And next Sunday, amateur shooters from all across the north state can find out about the pleasures of trap shooting -- all while raising money to benefit the American Cancer Society's breast cancer research fund and St. Elizabeth Hospital's Imaging Center MRI Diagnostic Station.
Red Bank Quail & Ale will host the first "Shoot for Purpose, Aiming for Awareness" sporting clay shoot at the ranch southwest of Red Bluff.
